Four platforms. One relationship.

Niner Advisors engages at the level a client needs, and engagements are designed to escalate as the relationship deepens.

Niner Advisors delivers four service platforms for owners of capital projects: readiness and execution assessment, capital strategy and investment assurance, project recovery and special situations, and program management and owner representation. Each answers a different question an owner is already asking, and each is a complete piece of work on its own. Most clients start with a single, bounded question, and the structure below is designed to make the next step an easy one.

The engagement ladder

Six steps, each a complete piece of work in its own right. Nothing here requires the next step to be worth commissioning.

01

Executive consultation

Objectives, constraints, capital exposure, and risk.

02

Fixed-fee assessment

Readiness review, diligence study, or project health check.

03

90-day implementation mandate

Resolve the highest-priority weaknesses identified.

04

Executive advisory retainer

Continuing senior involvement in major decisions.

05

Owner representation / program management

Lead or support the delivery organization.

06

Portfolio relationship

Multiple projects, sites, or capital programs.

Common questions about how we work

What does Niner Advisors do?

Niner Advisors is an independent capital infrastructure advisory and program management firm working for owners, developers, investors, and operators. It engages through four platforms: readiness and execution assessment, capital strategy and investment assurance, project recovery and special situations, and program management and owner representation.

How do the four platforms differ?

Readiness and execution assessment answers whether a project is positioned to be delivered, before capital is committed. Capital strategy and investment assurance tests whether capital is being deployed against a credible execution plan. Project recovery diagnoses a project already in difficulty and sets out a plan the owner can act on. Program management and owner representation places the firm inside the delivery organization, representing the owner through construction and commissioning.

Which platform should a project start with?

Most clients start with a single bounded question rather than a platform. An executive consultation establishes the objective, the constraint, and the capital exposure, and the appropriate platform follows from that. Each step of the engagement ladder is a complete piece of work in its own right, and none of them requires the next step to be worth commissioning.

Can engagements run in sequence or alongside each other?

Yes. An assessment often precedes an implementation mandate or an owner representation role, and assurance work can run alongside a program the firm is not managing. Whether the work continues past any given step is the owner's decision, not a condition of the first engagement.

How are engagements priced?

Fixed fee, scoped in advance, or a retainer or phase-based structure agreed before the work begins, paid solely by the client. Fees are scoped to the project rather than published, because the range between a single-site review and a multi-site capital program is wide enough that any published figure would mislead.

Does Niner Advisors design or build projects?

No. Niner Advisors is an owner-side advisor. It does not provide licensed architecture or engineering services. It reviews, analyzes, and advises; it does not certify design, and it does not direct construction means, methods, sequences, or site safety.

An executive consultation costs you an hour and commits you to nothing further.
